On Tuesday 17th October, Mr Whitten led a trip to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This was part of the Sport coursework which is focused on local, regional and national sporting venues. There we took a look inside some of the venues which hosted different sports at the London 2012 Olympics. These included the Velodrome, Copperbox Arena and the Aquatic Centre.
We also had time to walk around the London Stadium which hosted the track and field events and also the opening and closing ceremony of both the Olympics and Paralympics. The boys were amazed by all of the venues in which they were shown and thoroughly enjoyed the day as much the staff accompanying them did.
